The well-designed transparent reamer on the top of the gadget efficiently extracts juice from citrus fruits and also acts as a protective cover for the zester. The original Zester Microplane, made with US stainless blades, produces finely grated orange peel without removing the bitter white pith. On the opposite end of the tool, a straight blade that creates the same angle of view (turning tool) turns beautiful orange peels effortlessly. Scented orange peel twists add delicacy to desserts, such as cakes, tarts, and quick breads, and also make garnishes for savory foods, such as grilled chicken and steak.
